A deep clean reaches the things a regular clean does not. Inside the oven and fridge. Baseboards and door frames. Grout, vents, and behind the furniture nobody moves.
It is a one-time job, it takes several hours, and it resets a home rather than maintaining one. Most people book one before moving in, after moving out, after building work, or when it has been a long time since the last professional clean.
The difference is not effort. It is reach.
A standard clean covers the surfaces you see and touch every day. Counters, sinks, floors, the outside of your appliances, and the inside of the microwave. It keeps a home the way it already is, and it takes one to three hours.
A deep clean covers all of that, and then eight things a standard clean never touches:
Before you move in. You are about to unpack into someone else’s home. Cabinets, closets, the inside of the fridge, and the bathroom grout are the places you least want to inherit. Better done while the place is empty.
When you move out. A documented professional clean helps when you are trying to get a deposit back. Empty rooms also mean we can reach everywhere, so a move-out clean is usually the most thorough job we do.
After building or renovation work. Construction dust travels, and it is fine enough to settle inside cabinets, on top of door frames, and in vents. It also keeps reappearing for weeks if it is not removed properly the first time.
Before starting a regular schedule. If your home has not had a professional clean in a year or more, start here. A Standard Cleaning on a home that needs a deep clean will disappoint you, and it is not the cleaner’s fault.
Once or twice a year, on top of regular cleaning. Some clients book a deep clean each spring and keep it up with visits every two weeks. That is the cheapest way to keep a home in good shape over time.
Before or after a big event. Holidays, a party, family staying. Either end of it.
A deep clean cannot be quoted over the phone with any accuracy. We look at the property, check the condition of the kitchen and bathrooms, and agree exactly which tasks are in scope. Then you get the price in writing.
We work through one room at a time rather than doing all the floors, then all the surfaces. It is slower in feel and faster in practice, and it means nothing gets left half done. Within each room we start high and finish with the floor, because dust falls.
On a deep clean we would rather you were there when we finish. It takes ten minutes, and it is the difference between you being satisfied and you noticing something a week later.
This is the most common reason people call us for a deep clean, so it is worth its own answer.
Moving out. Landlords and property managers in Los Angeles inspect closely, and the deposit usually turns on the kitchen and the bathrooms. Inside the oven, inside the fridge, grout, and limescale are the four things that get flagged most. An empty property is also the easiest to clean properly, since nothing has to be worked around.
Moving in. You are cleaning to a different standard, because you are about to put your own things away. Inside cabinets, inside closets, and inside the fridge matter more than how the floors look. Do it before the boxes arrive and it takes half the time.
Timing. Book it for after the last box leaves, or before the first one arrives. A deep clean on a full property costs more and achieves less, because furniture has to be worked around instead of moved.
A deep clean takes considerably longer than a regular visit. It is worth planning around.
An empty property is faster than a furnished one. A home that has not been cleaned in years takes longer than the estimate suggests, and we will say so at the walkthrough rather than halfway through the day.
For larger jobs we send more than one cleaner so it still finishes in a day.
One price for the job, agreed after we have seen it.
Deep cleans vary far more than regular cleans. Two homes the same size can take four hours or nine, depending on how long it has been and what condition the kitchen and bathrooms are in. Quoting one without looking would mean either overcharging you or coming back to ask for more.
So we do a walkthrough, agree the task list, and give you one fixed price for the whole job. Nothing gets added later.
If you are booking a deep clean before starting a regular schedule, tell us. The two get quoted together, and the ongoing visits cost less once the home has been reset.
Reach, not effort. A regular clean covers what you see and touch daily. A deep clean adds inside the oven and fridge, baseboards, grout, vents, inside cabinets, interior windows, and behind heavy furniture. It takes four to eight hours instead of one to three.
If your home has been cleaned professionally in the last few months, a regular clean is enough. If it has been a year or more, or you are moving in or out, start with a deep clean.
Yes. Both are included in a deep clean and neither is included in a standard clean. They are two of the main reasons people book one.
Yes, and an empty property is ideal. Nothing has to be worked around, so we can reach every surface. Empty move-out cleans are usually the most thorough jobs we do.
For the walkthrough at the start, yes, and ideally for ten minutes at the end. In between you are welcome to leave. A deep clean is a long day and most people do not want to sit through it.
For a move, yes. If you are staying in the home, a deep clean resets it and regular visits keep it there. Most clients who do both book a deep clean once a year.
Tell us the size of your place and why you need a deep clean. We will arrange a walkthrough and give you one fixed price for the job.
